Triloknath Temple is located in Triloknath village of Lahaul and Spiti district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. This temple is also known as Shri Trilokinathji Temple. Trilokinath Temple History & Significance
According to stone inscriptions found in the temple premises in 2002, the Trilokinath temple was originally built in the 10th century. But today no remains of the original structure can be seen. Including the marble statue of the six-headed Avalokiteshvara. It was stolen decades ago. and which was now replaced by a statue made of gray stone. Presently this temple houses the six-armed Avalokiteshvara in white marble.
Which is claimed to have been built in the 12th century. It is said about this temple that it was earlier a Buddhist vihara or monastery. was converted into a place of worship by Padmasambhava in the 8th century. It is said so. The origin of the original statue of the temple dates back to that time. As in the head of Avalokiteshvara found near the confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers.

On the other hand portraits of the Dalai Lama and other Bodhisattvas cover the wall. There is a deity with six arms just in front of the entrance of the room. It is behind an iron gate and is surrounded by two pillars of gold.

Pori Mela is a three-day grand festival celebrated every year in Trilokinath temple and village. Both Hindus and Buddhists participate with great enthusiasm in it. In this holy festival, in the morning the Lord is bathed with curd and milk. And people gather around the temple in large numbers. And drums are played. During the festival many rituals take place in the temple.
According to the belief, Lord Shiva comes to the village on that day on a horse. During that Karan festival a horse is taken around the temple. And a grand fair is also organized.
