History of Soni ji Ki Nasiyan Ajmer

The foundation of Nasian Temple was laid on 10 October 1864 by Rai Bahadur Seth Moolchand and Nemichand Soni. After that on 26 May 1865 the sanctum was opened with the image of ‘Agnidev’. He is the first of the 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism. The ancient name of the temple is Siddhakoot Chaityalaya. The temple made of red sand stone is also called Lal Mandir. It is popularly called ‘Sone Ka Mandir’ or Soni Mandir after Swarna Nagari was added to the temple in 1895.

Architecture of Soni Ji Ki Nasiya

The interior of the museum depicts the five stages of the life of Lord Adinath. This temple is an example of rich architecture.

The ceiling of the inner chamber of the temple is decorated with silver balls. The interior is decorated with Belgian stained glass, mineral color paintings and stained glasswork. An 82 feet high pillar stands in the middle of the complex. Which is called Manastambha. It is artistically designed with the images of Jain Tirthankaras engraved on a white marble pillar. It was built by Seth Sir Bhagchand Soni.
