Flora and Fauna at Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in a beautiful hill station. The valleys are rich in many lush green forests and tropical thorn forests present in the rivers. Many herbal medicinal plants are also found here. The sanctuary has 81 species of trees, 89 species of shrubs and 17 species of plants. The forests here have 3 species of wild rose and 16 species of phosphorous and bryophytes and algae. Bamboo forests are present in the south western part of the sanctuary.

There are many endangered species of fauna in this sanctuary. Here you can see rare hyenas and jackals. Lions are also found in the sanctuary which were last seen in 1970. Wild cat, hyena, jackal, common langur, wild boar, rhinoceros, Indian hare, elephant and fox live in the sanctuary. This sanctuary provides the ideal environment for lazy bears. The sanctuary is very special for bird lovers. Because there are more than 250 species of birds here.

To travel by train, many trains will be available from Jaipur and Ahmedabad to Mount Abu. One has to take a long route to reach Mount Abu by train.
