Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple Vrindavan

Gopeshwar Mahadev Mandir is one of the oldest temples located in the city of Vrindavan in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple is situated on the banks of river Vanshi Butt and Yamuna. He is dedicated to Lord Bholenath. Story 

According to the legend associated with the Gopeshwar Mahadev temple, Sharad Purnima is related to the Rasleela of Lord Krishna and Radha on the full moon night. Shri Krishna and Goddess Radha were performing Raas Leela on the banks of river Yamuna. The curiosity to see their Rasleela awakens in the minds of Lord Shiva and Mother and both of them go out to see Rasleela. But Lord Shiva is stopped. Because except Shri Krishna, no other person was allowed to watch Raas Leela.

Bholenath meditated on Radha Rani to watch Raas Leela. Radha ji was pleased and sent her close friend Lalita to bring Bholenath. Those who came to Lord Shiva and told him the secrets of Sakhibhav, after which Bholenath took a dip in the holy Yamuna and when he came out, came back full of womanhood, after which Lalita made him enter the Ras Mandal. But Shri Krishna recognized this form of Bholenath and addressed him as Gopeshwar.

 Best Time To Visit Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple

October to March is the best time for the devotees to visit the famous Shiva temple. Because this weather is cold. But you can visit the land of Lord Shri Krishna at any time of the year. Especially during Janmashmi, Dola Gyaras and Holi, the view of Vrindavan is heart touching.

Timing And Entry Fee 

The opening hours of the Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple are from 5 am to 12 noon and from 4:30 to 9:30 in the summer. Whereas in winter, the opening hours of Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple are from 5:30 to 12 in the morning and from 4:30 to 9 in the evening. Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple does not charge any entry fee.
