History Of Fateh Sagar Lake

Fateh Sagar Lake was built by Maharana Jai ​​Singh in 1687. But almost 200 years later, in 1888, it was destroyed in a flood. After that Maharana Fateh Singh built Connaught Dam in 1889. Who shaped the present lake and renamed it as FatehSagar Lake to honor him. FatehSagar Lake is divided into three separate islands. Out of which the largest island is called Nehru Park.

A boat-shaped restaurant and a small zoo for children are located at this place. Which is very popular in the present time as a picnic spot. There is a public park on the other island of this lake. Summer season is not favorable to visit Fateh Sagar Lake. Because in that season the temperature of Udaipur city rises by 40 degrees. For that reason, traveling here between March to June should be avoided. The best time to visit FatehSagar Lake is in the monsoon season i.e. from Jalai to September. At that time you can enjoy the magnificent views. The temperature of Udaipur in monsoon ranges from 25 to 35 degree celcius. It is an ideal time to visit the lake.
