Danteshwari Temple is a temple dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari. She was the goddess of the earlier Kakatiya rulers. And also known as the embodiment of Shakti. History of Danteshwari Temple

Danteshwari Temple located in Jagdalpur Tehsil of Chhattisgarh is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas of Goddess Sati. This temple is a 14th century Hindu temple. This 600 year old temple is a witness to the rich history of India. The name of the temple is Danteshwari Temple, apparently, the teeth (Dante) of Goddess Sati fell here. The temple is popularly known for the Nyaya Kalash. 

According to legends, Goddess Sati committed self-immolation in the fire pit of Yagya Kund after being humiliated by her father Daksha. Enraged by his death, Lord Shiva destroyed Daksha’s yagya. And later Lord Vishnu had to cut the body of Sati and scatter it at fifty-two different places in India. It is believed to be one of the fifty-two Shakti Peethas of the divine woman Sati, spread by Lord Vishnu. Sati’s teeth fell at the place when all these Shakti temples were built.

The timing of the temple aarti is 5.30 in the morning and the evening aarti at 6.30. The timing of Danteshwari Darshan is from 5.30 am to 6.45 pm.
